IT'S NOT "AUD"
The fact that the Kitchener Rangers didn't go to tender for the planned 9.3-million dollar, 968 seat expansion at "The Aud" doesn't concern mayor Carl Zehr.
City policy requires that projects valued at twenty-five thousand dollars or more go to tender.
But, Zehr says it's a Rangers' project, and is like a tenant in a building making improvements.
And, Steve Bienkowski, who heads-up Rangers operations, also points out that the expansion is not a city project, adding that the OHL club has been working on the plans with Ball Construction for the past two years.
